My Dad worked at The Maypole at only twelve years old.

YES mine too IRENE he was only 12 when he went down pit at Blundell's pemberton he taken on to rend for pit ponies,eeeh I still miss him.

As I've mentioned on a few occasions before. Worked there from 1949 to 1953, but not when I was twelve, fifteen.

My Dad was born in 1908, Albert, so it would have been 1920 when he worked as a twelve-year-old at The Maypole. He was 44 when I was born!
