Photograph taken in the police house at Warrington Road Goose Green, where he lived. His wife Veronica is on his left, his sister-in-law Mrs Maria Dumican, nee Ashcroft, is on his right. Taken in 1963.
I lived at the police house at 464, Warrington Road, from around late 1968 to August 1971. The fireplace looks familiar. There were 3 houses together, at the time I lived there the other occupants were Dave Cowburn, next door, and Horace Staniforth. I moved to Standish when the force started to allow us to buy our own properties.
I may have bought the house which was offered to us at the time but it was the fact that it was on a busy main road that decided me against it, otherwise I may still have been there!
Hi Brandon. I lived in the middle police house. Looking at the houses. On the left lived Enos Banks, and on the right lived Harold Moss. I transfered to the Kent Police in July, 1964. Enos transfered to the Hampshire Police, shortly afterwards. Before tranfering, I worked from Pemberton Police Station.
I lived in the middle house 462, my dad was david cowburn.
We lived in these houses as well. My dad was Enos Banks. I think they were new when we moved in. I went to a school opposite and there were slag heaps over the road that we played on.
Sadly dad died in 2005. He was a traffic policeman in Hampshire and never really retired, continuing to drive professionally into his late 70's.
