I went past there today, it's all over-grown with trees... you can't really see the "Bonk" sadly.
The photo takes me back a bit, I worked as a apprentice and later underground until leaving in 1979, after the explosion. Good times but hard work! Anyone out there who worked underground at that time? I worked in the Florida and Crumbruck? (Spelling may be wrong) as fitter.I've long since lost touch with everyone, now live in sunny Spain.
