Went to school with Eric Highton (Poolstock C of E)
John Green was a neighbour of mine and an old drinking mate in the Bold Hotel, Worsley Mesnes. He used to come out with some very funny one-liners-----He was saying how unlucky he was. He said if Raquel Welch had had triplets and he was one of them, then he'd be the one that had to have the bottle. Lovely, funny man, and played a bit of rugby for Wigan in the early sixties.

I studied this picture for ages trying to decide if the chap back left was my uncle Bernard or not then scrolled down to see that it is. I didnt know he ever worked at Reeds, but my dad did, Les Bromilow.

Dougie, Sadly Bernard died in August 2006 aged just 61 years. My Dad is still going strong at 76. He has had a bad couple of years healthwise but is as fit as a fiddle again now. I will tell my Mum to have a look at this and she can show him. (My Dad doesn't do computers.)

No i have not showed them to Les as yet but i will. He has had a bad few years with bowel cancer, it was the chemo that nearly killed him, but he is in remmission now and we hope for a very long time to come.I remember when Les played Cricket for Reeds, and when he used to go golfing straight from night turn at Bolton. Sometimes forgetting his house key and he had to come to my worksfoe mine. He is still very forgetful, he puts it down to old age now. I will send you another message WHEN he looks at the pictures.
