Camaraderie means mutual trust and friendship among people who spend a lot of time together. I think this fantastic photo sums it up brilliantly.
What a great picture. They've got little wicker baskets to carry their butties in.
I was talking to an old lady in hospital about ten years ago who had been a pit brow lass at Garswood Hall.
She told me that they made bonnets out of cardboard to wear while they worked. You can see in this picture how they have used shaped pieces of cardboard, folded into a large square of material. Probably to give little protection to their eyes rather than a to be a fashion statement.
