The Infant Head Teacher in 1957 was Miss Eleanor Johnson, and the Junior School Head Teacher was Mr Birch. Our first infant teacher was Mrs Sherrington. The School Secretary was Mrs Melling, who always had a kind word for any child who was upset or distressed. Mr Tasker was the school caretaker. Michael Mason, I remember you! If my memory is correct, we both ended up at Highfield, until you passed the 14 plus exam and then went on to Thomas Linacre. Pardon me if I'm incorrect, I'm going back nearly 50 years.
