The dust tube apparatus is called Kundt's tube. Does anyone remember how we tried to get Mr.Smith to pronounce it in the German way, but he would always say that it was Koon's tube.
He was a good physics teacher and I beleive that he made a good head of school later.

Len Smith was an excellent teacher... he generated my interest in science; incidentally, he taught my father when he was a lot younger. I met him the once after I left TLS, I had been a groomsman at a work colleagues' wedding; Len and myself walked down Parson's Walk chatting, he was interested in my career. He was wearing a long, brown polished leather coat and trilby, me in my grey top hat and tails, etc.... not exactly the usual dress on Parsons Walk in the afternoon:)
