From what I can remember it was something like 53 goals for and only 1 against and they only got that in one of the last couple of games. I think it was St James school that finally scored against us.

I played against them when I was at junior school, couldn't get anywhere near em! We certainly never scored against them. Fantastic team. Once we lost 8-0 to them, and we where happy with that, as it usually ran into double figures! Is that the same Steve Bannister that lived on Walpole Ave? If so we both finished up at Gidlow school, as did Alan Bentham.
Which one is Howdoo?
xxstuartxx,it,s tony price,i asked him could i put them on,he put the names to the faces.a better memory than me.p.s he has still got his medal what is on this photo.
Tell Tony "Hi" from me, Jim bissell. I'm living in Illinois now so my "lil" nephew sent me this link, didn't ya Stuart !!
Yes that is the same Stephen Bannister that lived in Walpole.
I have these same pics somewhere and I think I still have that medal, but I have moved around so much not sure were maybe still at my mothers place in Ruskin Ave.

Haven't seen George in years we just do our own thing. Yeah those were good times back then.
I remember you Tony, didn't you live off St Pauls Ave?
Others:
Ste Davis, lived in a bungalow on the dual carriageway, opposite side to the Ben Johnson, had a younger brother I believe.
Tony Heywood, lived on the corner of Marus Ave and Poolstock lane.
Mark Leary, knew his sister Ruth quite well.
Keith Tidmarsh, had an older brother who was also an excellent footballer.
Dave Cottam, didn't he start work as a hairdresser?
Good memories.

Who was the goalkeeper?
All the shirts are the same.
kenny halliwell top right was the goalie
yeah Kenny the goalkeeper that always wanted to play out.
Someone downloaded the picture for me, Although I still have the original somewhere. God it brings back old memories. Woulldn't believe all those cherub like faces are now on the heads of 50 year old men.
Hi Jimmy Wattsy here. Itwas actually 73 goals for and 1 against and Mr Gibson didn't enter a team in the schools cup that year because he didn't think we'd be good enough. You were right about the goal against being St James's in the next to last game. It was a mile offside but your dad wasn't reffin that game and Mr Gibson allowed it because he didn't want us trying too hard in the last game
50 year old men,colin,,,still 49 yet,colin you remember that school,s cup,,does the smith cup ring any bell,s.
Sorry Tony only remember Mr Gibson telling me he hadn't entered us into the schools cup because he didn't think we'd be good enough but that was before we'd played a game.
hi colin remember st james game won 3-1 away. about that schools cup,do you remember going on strike saying if mr gibson (gert) did,nt enter us we would not play again, i think i do. but it was a few years ago.
So I was the youngest and so I had a big hole in the front of my right boot, but that didn't give Grimshaw the right to put me on the end of the row!!Now I'm a deputy head at a sec in Cheshire and get to call the shots...happy days!
