A standard plug? Or a two-pin plug into a shaver socket? Or a hard-wired fused spur?
Ron, get one of these. Put the socket onto a 3 core flex from an ordinary plug. Put the plug onto the clock's cable, as close as is practicable.
Hey presto.
(I might even have a couple of these in my hoard of 'things'!) (I might even have a couple of two-pin!!)

Thanks James, managed to get it working just hard wired it by using two crimped connectors to try it out and will get a 2 pin connector tomorrow to do a proper job<g> At first it wouldn't start Then I remembered this afternoon whilst searching the net I saw that some early clocks have to be started by using the hand turning knob.. Appears it's a very early SMITHS ELECTRIC clock, and probably a bespoke model?
