I was looking up my old school and came accross this photo. The person that is not named in the team is me. I moved south at 17 when I joined the Royal Navy.Seeing the photo brought back fond memories the sports teacher at the time was Mr Purcell.

Hi Carl and Jimmy
I well remember both you
I dont run into anyone from school these days
I think the last time i saw anyone from our old class was Barry Hammond
I was very saddened to hear about cliff, it just brings it home that time catches up with all of us eventually

Comment by: Terry Halsall on 24th August 2013 at 02:15

Yes Peter it brings it home alright mate!
I was gutted when I heard about Cliff. We were good mates, always took me to a game when I came over, had a beer with Cliff, jimmy Taylor & Crooky at Ince rugby 2006 saw Dennis Boyd, Carl Roden, saw Bill Ashurst at St Pat's game.
Mr Purcell was an inspiration to us lads in those days. I missed Cliffs funeral but payed my respects at the cemetery with Viv, Alan, Susan and Cliffs Mum in 2010, still gutted today!!
Will contact Carl Bithell & yourself by email. Thanks for your comments, Do your BEst Lads. Tezza

Hi, not sure how often people look at this but just to let the others in the photo know, my dad is 2nd one in, counting from the right. Michael Fernay. My dad passed away in September last year after a long battle with leukaemia. Its lovely for his family to find photos like this on here.

So sorry to here about your dad Paul I was in his class at school, I will let a couple of the lads who I am in touch with know.
