Mrs Byrom was an inspirational teacher who went "the extra mile." She took me to Wigan Little Theatre to see the Merchant of Venice when Dacre Brown played Shylock. That would have been at the end of the 1950's but the memory has stayed with me and gave me a love of the theatre that has stayed with me all these years.
I REMEMBER MRS BYRON I USE TO GO MOGGY LANE 1960 TO 64 SHE ONCE MADE ME SEW 6 BUTTONS ON A PEICE OF CLOTH & THEN SHE CUT UM OFF TEDDY RIMMER SENT ME TO HER FOR BEING LATE SHE WAS A GRAND WOMAN
Seems you must have made a mess of you button sewing Les lol. Hope you improved with the years :-) Mrs Byrom was an excellent teacher and was very well thought of.

Where is Mrs Byrom buried. I would like to put some flowers on her grave.I have never forgotten that Mrs Byrom brought me a basket of fruit whilst having an operation in Wigan infirmary. God Bless Her Soul.
