These are some of the players who took part in the Final of the Platt cup in 1953. The two older men are Mr Murphy, former headmaster of St Cuthberts School and another teacher, Mr Riley. The photo was lent to me by Harold Heap.

Im second from the right of Mr Riley. Still got the picture of Central Park and the Wigan jumper the boys presented me with. Was over from Australia at the time. Great night.
