Wigan Album

Is that one of the centenary plates celebrating 100 years of St Michael's in 1977 that the head is holding. It was a good school, pity it had to close.

Yes. My mum still has the plate hung on her wall. Apparently it is worth something today, but, to me it's priceless.

visited Wigan a few years back and went straight to my old happy school St michaels, only to discover it had gone . Thankyou kathryn for the last picture and date given .

I have one of those plates too.. that seems along time ago.. happy memories.

The final year there, there were 3 teachers and 4 classes. the two sets of older children where merged together and taught by Mr Ladd. theres a few people on there I recognise and still bump into now and then. Jeff Abbott, John Hewitt his brother Chris (niffer) Billy and John Speed. Tracy Ince I can see, Anthony Hampson, Maxine Yarwood and I think Philip Oldfield
