I was in the choir for a short time about 1956-57ish. What was the name of the woman who took choir practice on Friday nights? I remember, I dropped out of the choir and she turned up at our house wanting to know why. I told her I wanted to listen to, 'Journey Into Space' which was on the radio at 6.0'clock on Sunday evenings. The same time as the Evening Service.
Ron,If my memory is ok, i think was Miss Turton.
Do I spot Arthur Stockley at the far left of the picture?
Correct infront of Arthur,Tom Stockley,Mr Topping,farther down J.Ackers.The other side there is Ian Burrows.John Aspinall,Barry Hitchen,Mr.Knox,David Ascroft.
I think that Jim Muldoon is correct in naming the choir mistress she was Miss Ruth Turton a very talented organist she was a Fellow Of The Royal College of Organists and I had the honour of her being one of my godparents
Sadly, John Aspinall is no longer with us'
