The winner must have been something special if you didn't win love.

Hi Joan, Yes that would be the same one. I must see if I can find the cuttings I printed out at the Library a few years ago. They are quite blurred but I will see if you are indentified in the line up. If it looks any good I will post it on here. Keep watching, may take a bit of digging or another trip to the library. rgds Carole
Hello again Woodentop, Well thanks for your vote even though it's nearly 40 years later ha ha. My Mum's family did and do comem from Bryn / Ashton, know any Parrells??
carole, don·t know any parrells but do remember a Mclyment from Rosehill who somehow might be connected to the Parrells
Hi Woodentop, Well my grandparents lived at the top of Rose Hill ( Rag Brew as it was called ) and my Auntie Maggie married Stan McClymont. I know they lived with Stan's parents for a while but I don't know where that was but it sounds like that's the connection. My Mum's cousin Bertha (maiden name Eaves) still lives up there with her husband, also a Stan who originated from Poland dudring the war.
Hi Carole i was entered in the queen of Industry the same year as you i worked at Diamonds sewing factory i have looked for photos and been unlucky i do have some taken in the turnkey resturant somewhere in the attic so will look for them when i can .. i remember being terrified of walking on stage as i was only 17 at the time, but enjoyed it all the same..if you do manage to obtain any photos i would be grateful for any copies ,and i will try to find mine please let me know...Linda x
Hi Carole, l also did the Queen of Industry thing, in 1970 when l worked for Harveys ( Bread ). Scary as you said, but a good night. Llived on Northumberland Street and remember your family very well.
Hello again Helen, would that be the same year as me, Dave Lee Travis was one of the Judges, I think it may have been the year before yours??
Parrells Rose Hill - I think circa number 390, Wigan Road were Parrell. (The gentleman in question had suffered severe facial burns)
