Ithink 2nd left on front row is a young Norman Hartley
Hi Kath, ive done a bit of research, Norley hall c.c. had two teams competing in the West Lancashire League, in division A & C in 1926. In division C, Norley Hall went on to be champions. Lem Powell was a top/middle order batsman, with low team scores the norm, lem was quite prolific. I have no record of him actually bowling, was he a wicketkeeper. Here is a list of his team in batting order, Adamson, Danson, Powell, Rothwell, O'Malley, Miller jnr, Taylor, Winstanley, Baron, Shepherd, Taberner.
A Team from division A read Leadbeater, Parkinson, Marsden, Bailey, Kay, Leather, Baron,
Winstanley, Houghton, Hartley, Robinson.
Thanks for the info David, don't know if Lem was a wicket keeper. Will ask my Dad though, and also show him your comments. I'm sure he'll know some of the names. He's 88 now, but he also played for Norley for quite a number of years in the 50/60s
