Very different to today's busy junction.

After Williams Deacons bank there was Wildings newsagents and further down Rickmans greengrocers. Years after this photo, when there were traffic lights, on New Years Eve my day used to say "if you go to the traffic lights today you will see a man with as many noses as there are days left in the year". It took me a while to work that one out.
