Gosh I glad they weren't delivering my baby that night lololol
I never met joe Slater, but heard about him.
Wasn't he the Staion Officer at Billinge Ambulance Station?
He left just before I started at Standish Ambulance Station, in November '69.(There was then,an acting SO)
Both stations then came under Lancashire County Amb Service, 'til the NHS took over in '74. I did a couple of spells at Billinge as a reserve.
Yes Art, he was the Station Officer.
That's the day I was born, xmas eve 63 at Billinge, obviously can't remember much.
COLIN WAS THE TRANSPORT OFFICER AT LEIGH HOSPITAL WHEN I STARTED AT WIGAN AMULANCE 1979,HE WAS A TRUE GENTLEMAN.
