This takes me back..still trying to put names to faces but lovely to see everyone again.
Lovely to see this picture - it brings back so many good memories. It's not a very clear photo but I think I can name quite a few of the people so here goes.
Front row L to R - the first 3 I don't recognise but I think the 4th is Elaine Butler, Diana White(?), Janis Stuart, Christine Barton(?), Linda Parkinson, Anne Lowton, Helen Jones, don't know, Kathryn Birkett, Dorothy Houghton.
2nd row to the right of Mrs Harding is Sheila Fenton.
3rd row L to R - don't know, then Kathryn Halsall, Susan Taylor, 4 don't knows, Sandra Kelly, Linda Barker, don't know, Stephanie Riddeough, don't know, Jane Ward, Pamela Ball, Sandra Hitchen. I don't recognise anyone on the back row.
8th in from the left, 2nd row. The girl sitting with her knees up is Val Enion. I married her sister Linda who also went to Wigan Girls.
I am sorry that I can’t provide much more information than already provided however, second row seated – sixth from the left is Susan Cunningham and third row standing – fourth from the right is me!
My apologies to Susan as I meant to write Carrington.
You're right- it is Susan Carrington- ie. me- 6th from the left on the second row with all that hair!
PS I think it's Maureen Speakman to the left of me on the photo.
second row stood up
on the far left is me Jennifer Somers (don't remember the photo but do remember dance classes) I loved them!
third row 6th from the right is Shirley Hill
Isn't the Valerie Peet behind and to the left of Miss Webb?
This brings back memories of performing The Gondoliers with some of the girls in this photo.
So pleased to see this photo. Brought memories back of very happy times at school. I started there in Miss Burns' class in September 1968. First to go there from my little primary school in New Springs. Miss Holland rocked! Dancers were brilliant.
Yes that's me with the "poser" pose in the center 2nd row. 😉 That was an incredible dance display - "Question of Balance" and other Moody Blues music. Wendy Harding inspired me to not only dance but to teach. Gosh - it was a marvelous production. Good times. I have the same newspaper cutting in a scrapbook - somewhere.
Back row 1st left Jacqueline Metcalfe, empty space then me
I couldn't dance for toffee, but remember some of the faces and the names.I have a drawing of Gandalf the White by Lesley Skellon, which I treasure.Happy days!!
