This is taken from the bridge over the canal looking up Appley Lane North.

Even i am not this old.
On the left is what was to become or was the Railway Hotel pub.
The best pub in the village in its day, now sadly pulled down.
Immediately after the pub was a large bike shed for the lino works, whose offices are the next building.
This was exactly opposite to your uncle Ernies house.
