The pub on the left is the old Rose bridge inn, while the pub on the right in the middle distance is the Cases Arms I had my stag night in there as well as the Spotted Cow and the Mount Pleasant.
look at the lady in her rollers i remember putting my hair rollers in on a Sat morning ready for Sat night putting my scarf on tying it at the back and going to Wigan with my mates for some lippy and a squirt of perfume off British home stores tester sprays. You younger ones of today dont know what you missed.
This photo would have been taken in 1974 or later, as there is an ex Wigan Corporation bus painted in Greater Manchester Transport orange and white livery in the distance. Wigan Corporation was only taken over by Greater Manchester in April 1974.
My mums Grand Uncle and wife used to have this pub, Noah and Alice kate Mason many moons ago.
My 4 x Great Uncle was the In Keeper at the RoseBridge Inn in 1891. James Barrow and his wife Mary.
