Hi Peter the lad in the centre is John Shaw.

Absolutely amazed to see this picture of us all, really brings back memories. I'm the daft looking one on the second row down, second from the right, next to Arthur Scot. It is good to read that at least some of us are still around. If anyone would like to contact me I have given my e-mail address. Regards to all. Carl
I gave Dot Metcalf copies of these photos a few years ago. So pleased she has put them on. I'm 2nd from right on back row between Terry Halsall and Silvia Melling (mother of Mike Forshaw, Wigan,Bradford and great britain RL. forward. Looking at this photo reminds me of how I ran home from school on my first day and my mother had to bring me back!! happy days
I think the lad next to sonny miller is Thomas Eden.sonny (JOSEPH)and me were born on the same day 1st june 1949,his parents had the Crown pub on Manchester road railway crossings
Did you live in George Street, Jimmy?
Hi Irene, yes I did live in George St, with my sister and five brothers, Are you Bob's daughter, I believe your parents used to drink in the "long neck" with my parents, they were nice people, Funny old world, I ended up marrying the daughter from the lonk neck (Janet)in 1970
Yes that's me, Jimmy, and I'm so glad you've seen my comment and got back to me. I remember your family well, and your mam and dad did used to have a drink in the Long-Neck with mine. I knew your John and Graham best.....your John's birthday is the same as mine, but he's a year younger; how on earth have I remembered that all these years?! I remember the Telfords, Pat Burgess ,Irene and Bob Fairhurst, Joyce Grimshaw, Ann Heyes, all from your end of George Street, and I used to stand at the gable end of your row waiting for my Dad to come out of the Wagon Works at dinner-time. From the other end of George Street I recall Norma Packingham, Mrs. White, Ronnie and Joan Robinson and their children Christine and Philip, The Newtons and Doctor Hyde's surgery. And of course the Shawcross family's house, looking out across the back-field to the sand-hole and the pens. A lovely, homely community, Jimmy. Happy Days! I hope you and yours are well, and thankyou for replying.
PS...Jimmy, if you go to "Places" then scroll down to "Ince",there are 202 pics of Ince. If you go to page 10 of the pics, there are some of us girls in the "backs" in the early sixties.
I saw this photo via Dot Metcalf & Jimmy Taylor some time ago, I have a copy. What memories you have, johnny Entwistle & Jimmy Taylor, spot on with the names and faces.
I ran home from school too Jimmy, catching cockies in Can Row brook was much more interesting!!
