It most certainly is a picture of a maypole, but they had the walking day first and then the processions all finished up on the rec where they had a display of maypole dancing and then the queen of the may was crowned

I think it's a real shame maypole dancing and walking days are a thing of the past.

This a photo of the may queen which we did from sunday school and i took part in meny moons ago we also did old time danceing
