Just found it I think this was the last ration book issued in the U.K. the year was (????)

It was 1973 Dougie,but they were never used.

Petrol Rationing (Almost) in 1973
OPEC had imposed an oil embargo on Western countries in retaliation for their support for Israel in the 1973 Arab–Israeli (Yom Kippur) War and one of the British Government’s responses was to consider petrol rationing. By December 1973, 18 million petrol ration books had been printed and issued at Post Offices; the three-day working week was in full swing as the miners went on strike to press their exorbitant pay-claim during this difficult time
