Taken at the junction of Daniels Lane and Spencers Lane in the early 1960's.
The Bowling Green was an Almond's house.
Next to it is Roughley's Stores which was in the premises of the former village bakery. The upstairs rooms were part of a seperate house entered from the side of the building.
Both were demolished in 1968 to make way for a road

Not seen this photo before,as I am a member Skelmersdale Heritage society, and also brought up in Grimshaw Lane it brought back memories of the area .I went to the school at Digmoor 1956/1961.
I lived in Digmoor from 1962 and often shopped in that store - but we called it 'Brian's'
