Thanks Andy for your effort, the contrast in 95 years. Railings erected to stop folks falling in the water(shades of the goon Show there). It would have been in the 60's when I walked along that stretch of the canal . I have found a 2nd photo taken at the same time showing my Father in roughly the same spot which I will upload.
It isn't perfect by any stretch I'd forgotten they were laying the new towpaths and I shouldn't have really been on there!
Superb that Andy, like an ethereal timeslip photo and giving a glimpse of then and now, and how surprising the amount of foliage that is there now.
I agree with Cyril about the "timeslip" photo. As if the lady is still there somehow, linking the past and the present. It's a nice thought.
I agree Irene… it’s quite ghostly too. Nearly the exact spot where she stood. Amazing!
amazing what they can do and I didn't think they had colour cameras in 1928
