RON, i know there were yards on Wigan Lane in Swinley near the Shaw St, Duke St areas. My 2nd Gt Grandfather and family lived in Barrack's Yard, Wigan Lane and later in Smithy Yard, Swinley in the late 1800's.

How about this address for Wigan Lane, my gt grand uncle in other words my gt grandads brother who lived in Smithy Yard on Wigan Lane married a girl in 1872 who's address was GRAVEL HOLE, Wigan Lane !!!!
