Or even the building in the background? Looks like some sort of tower?
I was wondering could it be the Pigeon tower up Rivington.
She's wearing a wedding corsage - and that looks like a buttressed church tower in the background. From the fancy brickwork, I'd say it's not local - perhaps Norfolk way?
I forgot to mention, 'Betty' is written on the reverse side of the photo. Still can't find a connection with any family members though.
Its so sad, she can't be traced. She is a lovely looking lady.
We do have some of the chequered flint facing on churches in Norfolk but not in the part of Nth Norfolk where I am.
She does look as if she is attending a wedding.
It looks as if it's a wartime wedding to me. Before the service perhaps? She could be the bride of a Spitfire Pilot, who knows? A small affair maybe...or a witness for the bride and groom.
Veronica, I think the same as you & perhaps the path where she is standing is the path leading up to the church.
I love the flint buildings in Norfolk Helen. There were a few air bases round about as well. I think she would have worn a hat though if she had been the bride, and the Price of Wales check suit looks a bit severe for a bride. But I may be wrong, doubt we'll ever know , sadly.
