Thanks for sharing these photos Adrian, surprised to see that it was intricately ornate inside compared to the photos on here of the plain brick exterior. A shame it was bombed, though if that hadn't destroyed it the council clearances 20 odd years later would have.

I am still quite shocked by the devastation of the clearances. So little of the old streets are left. They did more cultural damage than the war. Very Sad.

An auntie of mine was a regular attender at this church, Ethel Short. She got married there, somewhere about 1938/39.

Hi Albert,
An Ethel Lithgow married into the Myers family at this church as well. In the late 1930s. Good name !
