Dougie, is it Stones' Garswood Colliery?
There was also a Pewfall Colliery close to Ashton Cross, but I am not familiar with its appearance.
it maybe park colliery ( stones ) .my old chap worked there .
Is that a Bedford 'O' type wagon under the loading screens?
Yes, it is 'Park' (Stones)
It is illustration of New No.1 & No.2 headgear after refurbishment in 1950, I have located the same photo on this site: https://www.aditnow.co.uk/Photo/1950-Headgear_64752/
Typical winding house windows.
I can remember when a child living in Downallgreen every new years eve at midnight Stones pit used to welcome the new year in with its 'hooter' or siren.
A rare sight these days, there used to be at least one in every direction you travelled in the 50s.
Priscus, seved my time down that shaft the Bedford you see was being loaded with waste and then taken across the road to be spread out never had a dart rock now Ashton golf course, coal was taken away by train to Garswood station
from what I saw on YouTube the only surviving pithead gear is now preserved at Astley
