Looks like it was taken at Bull Hey, Wigan Cricket Club.
This is a photograph of Wigan 2nd X1 in 1938, they played 21 games, winning 11, losing 4 and drawing 6.
Back Row L-R G.Scandrett(Umpire), W.Winstanley, J.Atherton, E.C.Lowe, I.L.McKinlay, E. Peet, G.Hall (Scorer)
Front Row J.M.Smith, H.E.Clarke, A.Evans(Capt), C.G.Rose (V.Capt) D.Howgate
A picture of happier times before the War. C.G.Rose became Ordinary Seaman RN and was killed in WW2.
Ron, Can you move the photo to Wigan Cricket Club section.
PF presume PF is Peter Fleetwood, there is someone's name missing off the back row, seven named including umpire and scorer, eight in the photo. Well done all the same.
Thanks to PF for the correction to the team identity and for the details of the team members. I posted the photo - the original is not annotated, so my mistake in thinking it was Spring View.
