Very sad photograph. 45681 Aboukir without its tender in the 1964 summer of death. Notice the yellow diagonal line through the cab number. This indicated that this particular locomotive could not travel south beyond Crewe due to overhead electric wires. During the last years, 1965 and 1966, these locos (Jubs) were instantly recognizable by this bright yellow line and were always welcome by us spotters north of Crewe.
