I recognise Boon's chemist as I worked there for a short while in the 70's
I bet you served me with my false eyelashes in the early 1970s, Veronica. They were called Hoodwinks Extremists and I bought them from Boon's! xx.
I speak to Mr Boons son, he lives in Spain.
I may have served you Irene in between dusting the shelves and bottles. It was a nice shop and very convenient for nipping in the market as there was a back door as well as the one on the front. I remember Mr and Mrs Boon but never met their family. I did wonder where they went to after the shop was demolished.
I remember going to Boon's chemist, our Doctor was Dr Jones at Drumcroon on Parson's Walk, if we got a prescription off him we always went to Boon's with it.
From the warm clothing being worn I suspect this was a St George's Day parade. Guides, Scouts, Boys Brigade etc all used to parade.
Jonno, would that be Simon?
I recognize Boon's too, was a Saturday/holiday girl there late 60's/ early 70's. Loved it, Mr Boon was a real gentleman. Had to leg it down to catch my train home so I could catch it back to go to the Casino!
