Hope you don't mind TD, I've tweaked your photo a bit, to remove the orange glare.

Hi AH. I did indeed go to John Rigby GS - I've still got the bruises! Peter Phillips and I both played on the same team at John Rigby, but when Peter went to Orrell I went to Newton-le-Willows RU. We both went to Leeds University where we played for the Uni RU team. Peter was a brilliant player - hard as nails and with a superb sidestep!

On the extreme left standing on the terraces behind the central park dugout and wearing his trilby is Mr Edward Battersby, shoulder to shoulder with his brother Orrell.

This is the team that played Warrington on April 24th 1963, at Wilderspool. Wigan won 16-15.

Thanks John b, that would make the Venue in the photo Wilderspool stadium, Warrington and not central park.
