Roy Kinnear Senior was from Scotland originally, and only came to Wigan when he changed codes and signed for Wigan.
His son, Roy Junior (the actor) was born while his father was playing at Wigan.
Sadly Roy Senior collapsed and died while playing RU in 1942 while serving with RAF.

Didn't Roy Kinnear, junior, die due to an accident, whilst riding a horse, during the shooting of a film scene?. His son is a very good actor.

Roy (junior) born 8th January 1934, attended Woodfield School in the late 30's (was in the next class down from my eldest sister who often mentions it) and died 20th September 1988 whilst filming in Spain.
