I suspect these great photos would have appeared in the Post & Chronicle, but they never were that clear in the paper. They always seemed as though the photos were taken in fog. Nice set of pics.
The Warrington 660 was my bus home to Abram. My son always had a sudden thirst when we got to the Baked Potato Café! x.
Wigan as I like to remember it and wish it was still the same!
A.W...I'll second that....I get very nostalgic when I see the old Wigan.
When I worked at Boon's chemist I used to catch the 59 bus to Westhoughton on this side in the early 70's. I remember in the mid 60's running all the way from Scholes after missing the coach to Euxton ROF to catch the Chorley bus on the other side. What a palaver that was!
368 DTC716J, one of 50 Lancashire United Plaxton bodied Seddon RUs, new 1970/71, 338-357 WTD671-690H, and 364-393 DTC712-741J, on route 660 to Warrington. The 660 did not always have to use single deckers, unlike the 661 to Earlestown that went under a low railway bridge in Newton le Willows.
