Was in the park on Thursday, the chain link fence has gone but he still has a polished shoe. There were also some youths playing football on the bowling green. Last time I was in, there were some youths riding mountain bikes on the bowling greens. Sacrilege.
Rubbed that shoe a few times when I was at the Grammar School in the early 60s!
Alan.H. There is a lot of. 'No home discipline'. School discipline seems to be frowned upon. If discipline is non existent, then unruly behaviour will manifest itself.
Sir Francis Sharp Powell has been thinking for some time, he died in Yorkshire on Christmas Eve in 1911. I've rubbed his foot quite a number of time, but still had no luck.

What I want to know is who built the low brick wall on the tennis .courts where the nets used to be and what purpose it is meant to do. Senseless!
The "legacy" story was true. Rumor was that it was a once famous Florist here in Wigan, but the family appealed against the Will. Whatever happened to the Park Keeper, better still, THE PARKS PATROL, on motorbikes no less.
I believe it was ? Higham, the florist, who bequeathed a considerable sum of money so that Brass Bands would again play in the park on Sundays. BUT, his family contested it and that was that...
