Wasn't the friendly with Man City to celebrate Latics buying their "new" floodlights from them.
It wasn"t the first time they were used, that was against Crewe. However, they did work unlike lthe later opening use of floodlights at another ground in Wigan!
I thought they had bought their first lights from Peel Park, Accrington
What is interesting is the make up of the league with several Football League clubs being represented. My understanding is that they were mainly their reserve teams.I thought that the first time Latics played regularly against League opposition was when they joined the Northern Floodlit League. I seem to recall they played on Tuesday evenings.
