A very rare view of Wallgate Station in 1890 looking east from under the main west coast line bridge. Notice the original station platform and in the distance the Railway Hotel which stood on the site of what was PEMPS.

I have decided that I will model this Signal Box for my model of Wallgate rather than that awful concrete slab thing that they built to replace it, just need to invoke modeller's licence to cover the timing discrepency.
Good size scan Ron. Cheers

How things have changed! including the fact that the photographer was "trackside" and the signalman is looking benignly on.....those were the days. Now there's a £2000 fine for trespassing on the railway. A very interesting photo, thanks for posting.
