What a great memory Eileen I remember most of them now you've named them. Thanks for that.
David, I may have a good memory of 62 years ago but I sometimes can't remember what I did last week!!!!! As I said before I love the photo, still struggling to put names to the????? Anybody help?
My favourite teacher Mr Howarth 1945-51. I think you could be right Arthur about Colin Dobson.
Is the girl on the middle row 6th from left Storey I can't remember a her 1st name?
I agree with you Evelyn, Mr.Howarth was a lovely teacher.
Yes David, I think it's Sandra Storey, well remembered!!!
Fifth from the left on middle row is my late husband Colin Dobson.
Does anyone know who the girl is 2nd row up 3rd from left,
Hi Eileen, did you live in East View at one time ? If so I have a photo of you and me by the brook , ( can row ) I lived at number 3 , I was born 1948 so was about 6 yrs when this photo of your class was taken . I am on some of the other pics on here !
Hi Terry, yes, I did live next door to you in East View until our houses were demolished in 1956 because of the flooding.
I put a comment on your picture of Can Row , what a familiar sight that was far the first 11 years of my life,we had some good times as kids though, didnt we!
I remember your family very well,in fact I remember most of the people who lived down Can Row, I bet you do too!
I'd love to see the picture of you and me, Happy days!!!!
Hi Eileen the girl next to you is Vera Jackson. The boy next to Colin Dobson is Tom Aspinall and the girl next to Sandra Storey is Norma Inglis. The girl next to Ivy Fishwick lived at the Conquering Hero pub in The Grove. Mr Howarth was certainly the best teacher we ever had. Graham still has the Merit badge made by Mr Howarth. Does anyone remember when part of the roof gave way and fell on David Hughes head!
Hi Joan, thanks for replying,do you know the name of the girl who lived at the Conquering Hero? Great memory by the way! have you noticed the picture just below this of the May Queen, also,if you look under Walking Days you will see another picture of the May Queen,Graham is on it along with others I'm sure you will recognise, lovely to see you today
Hi Joan, forgot to say that yes,I do remember the ceiling falling down!if you look on walking days look for Higher Ince May Queen.Looked at your birthday party,Lily Flemming lives just up the road from me
Hello Eileen and Terry, I'm hoping you will remember my mum who lived at East View...Evelyn Ashton. She doesn't do internet but I've been telling her about this website and I'm going to send her some pictures. Haven't found any with her or her brother Peter on but if you know of any that would be fab.
Hi Elaine,of course I remember your mum and Peter! I also have a vivid memory of their mum Emily. They lived at no.1 but we all shared a back yard, we had some good times playing hopscotch and marbles! hope your mum is well, please give her my regards
Hello Eileen thank you so much for getting back to me. I've been to see her today and she has shown me a picture of yourself with her and Peter. I will try and get this uploaded, I'm on holiday at the moment!!! I remember East view visiting my nan, Emily, gas mantles and tin baths etc. Mum will be thrilled that you have remembered her. She is getting a bit frail but nothing wrong with the memory!!!!! Keep an eye out for the picture
Eileen hopefully the picture will appear on the Ince page of people section. Unfortunately I copied it on my iPad and it seems to have gone sideways. Typical but I hope you will like it.
Hi Elaine,(feels like I know you!) I have searched for the picture without any success,l would love to see it, maybe you could give me a bit more info, many thanks.
Hello Eileen, it doesn't seem to have worked on the nice page, so ve tried to create a new one called the Ashton's of east view on the people page. Fingers crossed, mind you I'm in Bruges, if this doesn't work I will try again when I'm home. It is a great photo although it was folded so there is a crease, you will love it. Mum says you were at the door often asking ...is Pete coming out!!!.
Hi Elaine, hope you had a good holiday, did you ever manage to post the picture you mentioned in your previous comment? I have searched and searched but no luck! I would love to see it, many thanks
Hello Eileen, I had a lovely time in Bruges, another birthday!!! Too frequent. I have been searching too...no joy...I even wrote to the web team and no response....will try again . It's a lovely photo. I tried to put in under people category...fingers crossed
