Just as I knew it photo taken from entrance of Borsdane Wood.On railway side was a sign lenghth of building HALLIDAY AND CONSANTINE

Dennis what year was it taken I used to live nearbye on Bolton road I can remember the mill when it was there. Are you an aspuller yourself dennis

Owned by the Readson Group. When the family owners retired and sold out in 1984 the group was asset stripped with 10, 000 jobs going in the six months.

Eddie, it must have been very early 90s, i worked at Heinz on nights and some of us watched the fire from an upper floor, everybody trying to guess where and what it was. I say early 90s as i retired in 1992.

My dad Albert and my Aunty doris used to work there spent may good times in the mill, worked there at weekends and school holidays when they were busy. Mr Kent and Mr Byrom used to let us fish in the Mill Dam. Bert in the boiler house used to roast potatoes in the furnace HAPPY DAYS

Disco son mill was owned by the Haes family from the mid 70's. Rented out
Multi use various tenants. The fire was 1989. Partial destruction. Sold in 2004 with planning for houses.jyy3e

Great Grandmother Florrie Lomas/Roper used to work there early 1900's, after her parents James (Watchman/Fireman) & SarahAnn Lomas, and they lived in Mill Lane, Dicconson Square (can't find on maps). Then moved to Westhoughton Town area.

Late 80s was GTWISTs cash n carry ( now GEETEEs for George Twist the owener) I left school and went packing the shelves for some beer money happy days the old water wheel was still just about evident rotting away when you leant on the bridge daydreaming

All my family; Charlie, May and John Halliwell worked there together! We could go into the mill to see our parents at work - great experience, remember your dad, Allan, in Gerard Arms when Pat Bold had it!!!

Fond memories of walking the dogs
Hadleigh & Rue through the woods
Fire 1989
Sold 2004
