Mick - I understand the roof was lost when sparks from the 1935 Jubilee bonfire on top of the hill, set fire to it.

I believe thhat during the 50s and possibly during the war it was used as a spotting post by the Observer Corp

I've walked along that track in the summers of the 60s with many a young lady in tow! Happy days!!
