Is this not the Grey hills as our Jean (wife) would call then at the top of petticoat lane
its the grey hills at the top of belle green lane.

This path is there today. The canal is away to the left and the Rabbit Rocks are behind the view. There is now a semi-permanent pond to the left which is reputed to contain a big ghost carp - it is fished quietly at night. On the right is an area of bog and the path is about to wind to the runners' left parallel with the Rabbit Rocks and heading back towards Belle Green Lane. We had a sponsored walk along here at Belle Green School in about 1969 - went round it eight times.
