Ron this is not the same house, there was only ever one house at the place you mean. I have seen this picture before some years ago and was not able to identify the location. I did think it could possibly have been where the motorway bridge is at Orrell Mount as some houses were demolished there.

A.E. are you sure??? I'm positive there are about 4 or 5 houses on the left, as you approach the motorway bridge from Upholland, and this looks like one of them? No doubt some Orrellite will clarify it<g> It looks like the photo is a HARRY PARKES one, looks like his handwriting

Ron there are a few houses on the left side of Tontine Road when heading towards Tontine from Church Street in UpHolland. Sunny Bank is the first, a detached house, next to that is a pair of semis and about a hundred yards after that, nearest the bridge another pair of semis. The two houses on the photo are definitely detached houses.

To clarify my previous comment, Sunny Bank and the first lot of semis are very close together, much closer than the houses on the picture. The second lot of semis nearer the bridge never had other houses near them.

This is actually 73 Moss Road, Billinge. The house still has the name Lynwood House, and has changed very little on the outside.
My work took me there regularly some years ago, and I still walk past it almost every da.y
