I had the privilege to watch WIGAN.R.L. FROM 1955 onwards and of all the players I have ever seen ERIC ASHTON WAS THE SUPREME PLAYER AND A GENTLEMAN,to see him in full flow was a thing of beauty he had the brilliance to draw the defence then off--load to another GENIOUS WILLIAM JOHN BOSTON OH WHAT MEMORIES THIS HAS JUST HEAVEN REMEMBERING THESE GREAT MEN!

There was a picture of Eric and Billy Boston painted on the wall in the bar at the old Central Park which I think John Markey and John Peters had a hand.

Ashton and Boston, simply the best of the best!

Giovanni - The painting was of Boston Ashton and McTigue and was painted on the wall of the Rivereside – I posted a photo of it in the album section on here a few years ago
