A trip to Haigh Hall on the tractor was like a trip to another world to me when I was a small child.

I remember going on this in the sixties, the man collecting the money at wigan lane end would not let us get on until we had answered a question.... I still remember it. What is the name of a female deer? Doe we replied...we got it wrong....then he told us the right answer...
