Jimmy. When did Mr Heyes retire? He became headmaster whist I was there. When I first went to the school, it was Mr Middlehurst, then Mr Topping, he only stayed about eighteen months, took over a headship, in Luton. Mr Heyes then became headmaster. In later years, I,together with another two ex pupils, also had a pint with him, at a pub, up at Abbey Lakes, way.

Albert,not sure when he left ,I left in 1963 ,our Billy 1964 ,our Keith in 1965 he was still there when our Keith left.

Jack Heyes live on Orrell Road, about halfway between Abbey Lakes and Orrell Post. He used to go in the Abbey Lakes regularly, but then changed his venue to the Owl Inn, further up the road.
He died about twenty to twenty five years ago.

Mick. Do you know how old he was when he died? He must have been a good old age.

I think he was in his late eighties, Albert.

I'm John Heyes' grandson. He passed away in 1996 aged 84. Enjoyed a pint or two with him down at The Owls, if I recall he retired in the mid '70's

Is the the date of this picture correct , spring view only became a mixed school in 1964 when it amalgamated with moss lane school

Bert,that Photo was took in 1963 the Year we left School.The Girls joined Spring View School in 1962 the year Britania Bridge School closed.Think it was 1964 ? Or 1965 ? When Moss Lane joined jSpring View School.
