I lived in Ince but worked in Standish in the early 70s, and I agree about the fashions.

They look like they're having harmless fun, which in today's clueless world would be seen as 'anti-social'. I bet they were decent lasses and didn't gob off like the vast majority of young people do today, all the young uns do today is constantly use the F word in every sentence or some other word that's just as vulger, and that doesn't matter if they're from a wealthy and poor background. TV and films are partly to blame for that I think.

Agreed! I walked behind a man and two women in their twenties this morning, pushing a child of about one in a buggy, and a little lad of about three walking alongside. All three adults were using the F word as if it were normal language. What chance do those little children have? My son is 37, married with two children, and he DAREN'T let me hear him swear!

I agree with Al, Irene and Jim. I remember the time when, if a man swore within the hearing of a woman, he apologised. . . and no, I'm not 90 years old! Boy how things have changed. . . for the worse.
