Still have memories of Wesley, can still see him and Auntie May in the shop!
I remember Wes from school, he was in the year above me,I think he worked on the L.U.T buses when he left , lived in Platt St opposite the Queens he was a really nice lad.He lost his life in a car crash on Bamfurlong bridge in the early sixties,after the Accident the bridge was widened to what it is today.
yes he did work for LUT driving I worked repairing for same company I lived in Sydney street no 11
Yes, my Great-Grandmother Rose Taylor (nee Clarke) told me the story and how she remembers it to this day. Her mother (my Great-Great Grandmother) was called Annie (nee Darbyshire) and i believe that Wesley was my Great-Great Grandmother's Nephew.
I remember him and the accident. He was a big bonnie lad. At the time he rented a garage next to Kenyon's pen on the tramlines.
In those days P!att Bridge was much smaller. Just the main roads and side streets and everyone knew everyone else.
I remember my aunt being in tears when she heard the news.
