The West Coast Main Line in 1981 when the foot crossing still existed.

I think this a fantastic photo. I love the colours and it has an eerie quality about it. I can just imagine a train suddenly appearing out of the distance.

Stuart; Where is the crossing?
I lived in Queensway from 1936 until 1958 and remember this crossing.

Ernest,
The crossing was accessed via a footpath from Crowhurst Drive (still there but overgrown) and was at the rear of the Tupperware plant (now Milliken) - it has now been replaced by a footbridge ... Health & safety ... YAWN !
